In China, Labor Day (láo dòng jié 劳动节) is abbreviated as "May 1st" and the Chinese government sets up a five-day holiday, namely May Day Holiday (wǔ yī jià qī 五一假期) for Chinese people to celebrate this meaningful day.
During the five-day holiday, many Chinese families would like to take a trip; however, this also leads to overcrowded (rén mǎn wéi huàn人满为患) tourist destinations (lǚ yóu shèng dì 旅游胜地). Moreover, plane tickets (jī piào 机票), train tickets (huǒ chē piào火车票), and entrance tickets (mén piào门票) would be sold out very swiftly; hotel (jiǔ diàn酒店) prices would skyrocket.
Yet, if bustling crowds aren’t your cup of tea and you are not an enthusiastic fan of travelling, you can just stay at home and enjoy more leisure activities, such as binge-watching (kàn jù 看剧)!
