1.      University Profile

Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) is a key university directly under the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. It is the only international university established since the founding of New China with the mission of promoting Chinese language and culture, hence renowned as a "Little United Nations." BLCU is characterized by its focus on international Chinese education, leveraging strengths in language teaching and research to achieve multidisciplinary development. It has become a globally recognized hub for language and cultural exchange.

"eBLCU" (eBLCU.com) is a cross-border online international Chinese education platform hosted by the College of Continuing Education at BLCU. It provides high-quality international Chinese education services to learners overseas, offering excellent online Chinese courses, Chinese cultural experiences, international Chinese teacher training, and comprehensive learning support.

2.      Program Overview

The "Chinese + Vocational Skills" program is a specialized Chinese language teaching initiative designed and launched by the College of Continuing Education at BLCU. It aims to help learners improve their workplace communication skills in Chinese, enabling them to interact more effectively with Chinese colleagues, clients, suppliers, and partners. The program consists of two tracks:

  • General Workplace Chinese: Centered on the "Online Business Chinese (OBC)" training program, it focuses on common Chinese communication scenarios in international workplace settings.
  • Industry-Specific Chinese: Tailored to specific industries, it includes Chinese for international trade, retail, banking, and more, addressing the specific needs of learners with professional and vocational backgrounds.

3.      Target Audience

  • Professionals from various industries who require business communication with Chinese counterparts or have business relations with China.

4.      Admission Requirements

  • "Business Chinese" courses are open to learners from beginner to intermediate-advanced levels. Other vocational skill courses require learners to have elementary Chinese proficiency (equivalent to HSK Level 3).
  • Total beginner learners must possess elementary English listening and speaking skills.

5.      Course Types and Duration

6.      Learning Process

Placement test → Self-paced recorded lessons (approx. 2 hours/week for 12 weeks) → Complete assignments and receive teacher feedback → Live classes (50 minutes/week for 12 weeks) → Final exam → Apply for a certificate of completion upon passing

Note: The self-paced version includes recorded videos and assignment guidance but does not include live classes.

7.      Class Schedule

  • Live classes are scheduled between Monday and Sunday, 9:00-21:00 (Beijing Time), with fixed weekly slots arranged flexibly based on the student’s time zone.
  • Recorded lessons are self-paced; students plan their own study time to complete weekly tasks.

8.      Class Commencement

  • Small group classes start with a minimum of 3 students. If the class cannot be formed, students may pay the difference to switch to one-on-one classes or request a refund.
  • One-on-one classes start within one week after payment (or according to student needs).
  • Self-paced courses are activated within 24 hours after payment and completion of the placement test.

9.      Learning Platform

Instruction and services are primarily conducted on the "eBLCU" platform (www.eblcu.com). Depending on the student’s location and network conditions, ClassIn may also be used for teaching.

10.      Registration and Payment
